RED ISLAND

Hormoz is a small circular island in the Persian Gulf, the selection consists of sedimentary rocks. Hormuz is run from the mainland in almost all respects since there are no drinking water rights on the island. Important sources of source are the red iron stones found on the island, which are important for the pharmaceutical industry.

Ahoo Maher got to know the island on a project trip in February 2013. and starts there with their documentation and research. Photographs are made in Hormuz island and the artist has processed them with screen printing technology and red pigment from the island.
